Examples of these functional mental illnesses include schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, depression, Korsakoff's, Huntington’s, Parkinson’s, frontal lobe dementia, and vascular dementia. The service supports individuals aged over 50 who are experiencing extreme anxiety surrounding their dementia journey, which can manifest itself as intense periods of behavioural challenge. Briardene offers Complex Dementia Services focused on providing intensive mental health support in therapeutic environments.
